Head of the department, Dr. Ward Giltner, reported that a statewide tuberculin test system had been initiated after analysis of 42 wells in the state showed high levels of contamination. The goal was to improve public health within Michigan following the analysis which stated that over 50 percent of state wells were polluted with both sewage and soil bacterias.
