Michigan State University has always had diverse student organizations. In the late 1800s and early 1900s students created social and literary clubs that later became Greek fraternities. As the University expanded, students formed groups based on their special interests including areas of study, politics, hobbies, and athletics. International students formed clubs to socialize with students from their home country and reach out to others interested in their country and culture. The activities of these organizations are an important part of the history of student life at the University. These texts and images highlight some of the student organizations at MSU.
