The gift Kellogg gave to MSU was the largest in its history, 860 acres of land comprising the W.K. Kellogg Experimental Farm and Bird Sanctuary around Wintergreen Lake. As well as the land, Kellogg donated an endowment of 265,000 dollars to the school for the purpose of the upkeep of the land parcel.
