The Kedzie Chemical Building, now known as Kedzie Hall, was named in honor of MSU's first chemistry professor, Dr. Robert C. Kedzie. The building was praised for having the most advanced ventilation system for a chemistry site in the nation, at a cost of 590,000 dollars. The building contained dozens of individual laboratories and classrooms.
