Description:

This picture shows the more agricultural aspect of the Cooperative Extension. Here the county agent is instructing children how to cull (to select and slaughter) chickens. While this may seem crude to city dwellers, it is a necessary element of farm life. This picture also demonstrates that the county agents did not spend their time exclusively with the adult farmers but also children.
