The film begins with office staff preparing programs and making phone calls. Dr. Nell Jackson, Assistant Director of Athletics, and Meet Director Mark Pittman can be seen talking with staff about the upcoming event.

Grounds crew is seen laying turf for the three-day event. Athletes begin preparations for Pentathlon Events (100-meter hurdles, shot put, high jump, long jump, and the 800-meter run) on the first day of the meet. One of the long jumpers, UCLA's Patsy Walker, is taken off the field on a stretcher after landing awkwardly. Athletic Director Joe Kearney can be seen watching the events in the rain under his green and white umbrella.

Field events, such as shot put and javelin, also take place in the film. Additional scenes include field judges, timers, physical trainers, and fans.
