The video begins in the robing room. Michigan Governor and commencement address speaker John Engler prepares for the Spring 1991 commencement, which will take place in the Breslin Student Events Center. MSU President John A. DiBiaggio, Provost David Scott, and Gordon Guyer are among those also present.

The MSU Wind Symphony plays as the processional into the Breslin Center takes place. Mary Schneider from the Department of Religious Studies delivers a prayer, and Engler is awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. The video concludes during Engler's commencement address.
