President DiBiaggio thanks former MSU President John A. Hannah (who is also present at the commencement) for encouraging Breslin, and then presents medallion replicas to two former MSU presidents: Edgar Harden (15th president) and John Hannah (12th president).
The MSU Jazz Band plays an arrangement of "Take the 'A' Train". Provost Winder then introduces the 1985-86 Major National and International Undergraduate Award winners. The event concludes with President DiBiaggio asks all present to sing the alma mater "MSU Shadows", as performed by the MSU Jazz Band.
