Marilee Brooks-Gillies earned her Ph.D from Michigan State University in 2013 and is an assistant professor of English as well as the director of the University Writing Center at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She also currently serves as the President of the East Central Writing Centers Association and on the IWCA Inclusion and Social Justice Task Force. Marilee’s scholarship examines cultural rhetorics and writing centers with an emphasis on place-making in communities of practice. Brooks-Gillies was interviewed on July 8, 2020 and August 6, 2020 for the Writing Center at Michigan State University's Oral History Research Project.
