Michigan State University (MSU) Cooperative Extension Service Reporter Roger Brown reports on subjects related to agriculture and the upcoming 1976 bicentennial. Brown interviews Dr. Jim Goff, Director of MSU School of Packaging, about the importance of creating packaging for items. Steve Baertsche, sheep expert at Michigan State, discusses fence and barn options for ewe flocks, and George Good (manager of the sheep farm at Michigan State) demonstrates how his dog, Belle, wrangles a flock of sheep.

Charles Hines, who is in charge of the Michigan Crop Reporting Service, talks with Brown about methods for counting crops of corn in fields and predicting how big upcoming crops will be. Brown returns to the field later with Hines to discuss corn enumeration at harvesting time. Corn enumerator Don Gearhardt talks with Brown about how he counts fields of corn stalks. The film ends with Brown interviewing Fred Honhart, Assistant Director of Michigan State University Archives & Historical Collections, about archival materials available for research.
