Footage of the October 1961 game against the Michigan Wolverines at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. MSU Head Coach - Duffy Daugherty; Michigan Head Coach - Bump Elliott. Spartans won 28-0.
The Spartans scored their first two touchdowns in the first quarter (including a 17-yard run by George Saimes), their third in the second quarter, and their fourth in the final quarter. Other starters included Matt Snorton, Carl Charon, and quarterback Pete Smith. Additional silent footage includes pregame performance by the Michigan Marching Band, the Spartan football team lifting Duffy Daugherty and an assistant coach up onto their shoulders after the win, and a sports broadcaster preparing postgame interviews of a member of each team on the field.
