Footage of the October 1970 non-conference game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. MSU Head Coach - Duffy Daugherty; Notre Dame Head Coach - Ara Parseghian. Spartans lost 0-29.

Images include the team mascots meeting on the field, the raising of the American flag, Duffy Daugherty coming onto the field alone after his team, a shot of the seating configuration of the stadium at the time, brief silent halftime footage of the Spartan Marching Band (SMB), close-up footage of members of the SMB and cheerleaders at the beginning of the fourth quarter, brief sideline footage of MSU coaches, and close-up footage of Daugherty and Parseghian shaking hands and leaving the field after the end of the game. The Fighting Irish were led by quarterback Joe Theismann.

NOTE: Some plays, including the opening kickoff, were removed from the original film reel.
