Color photograph of Dr. Scott Chiu. Dr. Scott Chiu is the Writing Center Director at California Lutheran University and an Associate Professor in the English Department. He received his M.A. from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan and his PhD from Michigan State University. His current research focuses on L1/L2 writing transfer, translingual pedagogies, writing center studies, and community literacies. Scott also volunteers at Thousand Oaks Chinese School (https://www.to-cs.org/tocs/) and is an advocate for Taiwanese/Chinese culture and education in the local community. Dr. Chiu was interviewed by Sharieka Botex, Nick Buonanni, Grace Pregent, and Colton Wansitler on August 26, 2020 for the Writing Center at Michigan State University's Oral History Research Project.
