Footage of the October 1961 non-conference game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. MSU Head Coach - Duffy Daugherty; Notre Dame Head Coach - Joe Kuharich. Spartans won 17-7.

The Spartan Marching Band is seen doing pregame and postgame performances. MSU fullback George Saimes was selected UPI's Midwest Back of the Week after rushing for 142 yards and scoring both touchdowns against the No. 6 Notre Dame team.
