Whitney M. Young, executive director of the National Urban League, speaks at the annual Urban League banquet at Michigan State University's Kellogg Center. Young says "we might have come over (to America) on different ships, but we are all in the same boat now," and urges the audience to recognize that Lansing has racial issues, but notes some positive changes - a great university president and a great superintendent of public instruction who both happen to be black, and good written policies of intent by industries.
