The June 1966 convocation takes place in Spartan Stadium, on the campus of Michigan State University (MSU). The MSU Concert Band, under the direction of Leonard Falcone, performs Williams' Academic Procession as the procession enters the north end of the stadium, then performs Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance as the platform party enters. Attendees of the graduation ceremony sing America, and the Invocation is given by Jack Breslin. Hubert H. Humphrey, Vice President of the United States, gives the commencement address.
