Apisa scores two more touchdowns in the third quarter, while Purdue quarterback Bob Griese scores touchdowns on short runs in the third and fourth quarters. Purdue running back Bob Hurst also scores a fourth quarter touchdown (but the point after fails), and MSU running back Regis Cavender scores MSU's final touchdown of the game (but a two-point pass conversion also fails).
