Description: Linda Eoline Landon, nee Vought, was born in New York, and later moved with her family to Niles, Michigan. There she married Rufus W. Landon in 1877. He died in 1886. She served as a teacher in the Kalamazoo, Michigan public schools for some time. Later she was the librarian at M.A.C. from 1891 to 1932. She died September 29, 1942.
The scrapbook is a bound volume of cyanotype prints. A cyanotype, or blueprint, is a photographic image consisting of blue lines on a white background. Cyanotypes were first created in the 1840s, but the process was seldom used. In the 1890s cyanotypes experienced an increase in popularity, particularly with amateur photographers, due to ease of processing and low cost.
