This photograph is of registration visitors observing how MSU conducts student registration. The text on the back reads: "The office of the registrar at Michigan State college has drawn national attention for the speed and efficiency with which it conducts its operations. At summer school registration this week, representatives of 18 colleges from coast to coast attended a workshop to study the MSC plan, which is based on use of machine-filing systems. Lyle B. Leisenring, left, recorder at MSC, explains a part of the filing system to: Miss Emma E. Deters, registrar of the University of Buffalo; Miss Kathry M. Baker, assistant registrarat Wasington University, St. Louis; Miss Alma Preinkert, registrar at the University of Maryland; and E.C. Seyler, recorder at the University of Illinois."
