Throughout his career, Turner acted as an expert witness in criminal and civil court cases relating particularly to firearms and forensic evidence. Due to his extensive knowledge in the field of forensics, Turner was selected to review the assassination case of Robert F. Kennedy in 1975 as an specialist in firearms identification and ballistics.
