Forest and Alice Akers, shown here on a vacation to Panama, were married for 45 years. They were parted on November 29, 1962, when Alice died. Akers died on December 8, 1966 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan following a long illness. He will always be remembered as a generous benefactor of Michigan State University.
