As part of the Associated Students of MSU's Great Issues series on "New Politics", American social activist, leader in the Civil Rights Movement, and member of the Georgia House of Representatives Julian Bond speaks at the MSU Auditorium. Quoting from the poetry of Jane Stembridge and the words of W.E.B. DuBois and Frederick Douglass, Bond urges young people to leave their campuses, hit the streets and radicalize their peers. In front of an audience of about 4,000 people, Bond talks about his views on the 1968 presidential candidates, and expresses his opinions on how to combat imperialism and racism.
