This picture depicts a group of boys engaged in making crafts at the boys' club, led by the agricultural extension engineer. The text above the photograph reads, "Boys' Activities; Craft Work; Boys' craft work was continued this year under the direction of A. J. Bell, agricultural extension engineer for the Upper Peninsula. Three main projects were used - the shopping bag, the waste paper basket and silhouttes made by stippling the surface of a soft wood board to bring out the silhoutte in relief. The bos were keenly interested in this craft work and showed a great improvement over their work of the previous year. This work fills a reel need in camp because of the handicraft boys who are not particularly interested in the agricultural projects, and who through this means find an outlet for their interest and enthusiasm."
