Description:

Bruce Fossum graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1959 with a BS in physical education and a minor in science. He began as assistant basketball coach at MSU under "Fordy" Anderson in 1959. In this capacity, Fossum scouted and recruited for the team.

In 1965 Fossum was appointed coach of the golf program while teaching techniques in basketball and golf. He organized a winter program for golfers that included weight training, stretching, cardiovascular workouts and exercises that would improve a golfer's swing. Under his coaching, the Men's Golf Team won the Big Ten title in 1969.

Fossum worked with the National Golf Foundation in the 1970s and authored Golf Made Easier, Not Easy. He retired in 1988.
